Fitness has always been a big part of my life but nothing could prepare me for the challenge of motherhood!! Fit4Mom has been a life changer. It has given me confidence, strength and community. And the best part is that I can have all that with my two little boys, Ray (4) and Marcus (19 months) at my side. They are wonderful and inspiring kids. I started Fit4Mom when my second was only 5 months. Immediately I knew that this had to be a bigger part of my life. I started Stroller Strides when my daughter was 9 weeks old and I couldn't fit into a single dress in my closet. Fast forward eight months and I feel strong, fit and confident. I can do more squats, lunges, and crunches than ever before. I even ran a 5K with very little training other than the morning classes. More importantly, I've made friendships with amazing mamas and their babies and have so much fun and learn so much from them. I don't feel like my day is complete without going to Stroller Strides and I'm sad if I have to miss a day. Who would have thought that a workout could be the highlight of your day?
I went into my closet the other day to see what fit for an upcoming wedding, and to my surprise, every single dress fit perfectly. I wasn't spending hours a day in the gym and I wasn't on any crazy diet. I was doing exactly what I had done before with one change. Stroller Strides. My name is Annie and I have 2 boys, Sawyer who is almost 4 and Graham who is almost 2. There will be another little boy joining the crew in December 2016. I started Stroller Strides when Sawyer was 8 weeks old while living in San Diego. We moved to the Los Angeles area and I found Fit4Mom Conejo when I was 5 months pregnant with Graham and have been hooked ever since! Not only did I find an amazing group of women who were going through the journeys of motherhood together but also like minded regarding health and fitness. As far as the workout is concerned, I found what works for my body. Things I worked years to try and change, have changed! A combination of resistance training and cardiovascular work has proved to be the key to maintaining a strong and healthy body that I can be proud of!
My college education in Food Science led me to a career in weight loss and most recently as a physical education and health science teacher ranging from grades K-12. Becoming an instructor for Fit4Mom gave me back that piece of ME that I lost when I started having babies. I absolutely LOVE teaching and unlike most high school students you Mamas want to be there! I have a passion for health and fitness and being able to share that with this group is very special to me. I am beyond grateful to have found this village!more
I am mommy to my sweet girl Anniston (2). I grew up as a ballet dancer so I have always been passionate about the body and about fitness through all forms of movement, which led me to obtain a degree in Kinesiology-exercise science. I discovered Fit4mom Conejo when my daughter was 3 months, and fell in love with everything it represents...strength, love, community. To meet other mamas working towards our shared goal of a healthy and fit lifestyle, while spending precious time with our children, and setting an awesome example for them is priceless. My name is Tanya and I am a first time mom to bebe Xavier (13 months). I am extremely passionate about sport and athletics and being physically active has always been a large part of my life. In the past, I competed in long distance outrigger canoe races and am still an avid gym goer, hiker, runner and cyclist. I moved to Southern California from Canada when I was pregnant with Xavier and started Stroller Strides when he was 6 months old. I was hooked from the first class. When I joined, my main goal was to meet other mommas in the area and I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that Stroller Strides was not only a tight-knit community of mommas, but also a fun and challenging workout! I love teaching Xavier about leading a healthy lifestyle while also getting my sweat on! When I had the opportunity to become an instructor, I jumped at it. I believe wholeheartedly in the fit4mom and fit4baby philosophy as I’ve seen the positive results time and time again. Whether you’ve always been active or you’re just getting back into the swing of things, Stroller Strides works for all fitness levels. My pre-motherhood resume includes a AS from Moorpark College and pending BS in Political Science from CSUN. A career that includes public speaking, corporate training and area supervision for multi-family housing kept me very busy before switching gears to be a stay at home mom to Soli (4) and Steele (2). Descriptive writing and storytelling are second nature for me.
Fitness has also served a meaningful role in my life. From starting the first women's lacrosse team in high school to creating a company wide fitness program to improve the overall health of the employees; bringing health and wellness to those around me is important.
I am eternally grateful for the strong and loving women that have become some of my closest friends through Fit4Mom. Being part of the team is an honor and a privilege.
